* 2009 Set to be a green year

A mini survey rn by the Scottish Gov shows that Recycling, walking and being more energy efficient top the list of Scots' greener resolutions. See more at the Go Greener website. Why not join Linlithgow Climate Challenge in 2009 and make a difference, not only for your own carbon footprint, but also for our town.

* 2007 West Lothian - energy consumption figures just released

So are we saving energy? Yes - energy per household is down slightly at about 1% to 1.5% from 2006, however WL has grown in domestic customers since 2006, so overall we are actually consuming more gas. Fortunately, despite the increase in houses, electricity consumption has come down ever so slightly. Figures due in Feb 2009 will tell us about Linlithgow specifically.

Woodland Trust Card Recycling Scheme

* Recycle your Christmas Cards

at Tesco and various other venues - M&S, TK-Maxx, etc. Contributions will help to support the Woodland Trust.






* Climate Change Bill

The Scottish Government has published its Climate Change Bill which if passed will mean Scotland has the most ambitious climate change legislation anywhere in the world.

* Linlithgow Climate Challenge are awarded initial grant from the Climate Challenge Fund

Setting the foundation to produce and distribute a questionnaire to gather community views on climate change to help decide how best to engage with the community - £2,000
