Interesting Article about the Scottish Renaissance Towns Project.
Food for thought.
and here's a link for the Renaissance Project for Skipton. Some interesting parallels in terms of traffic/car bias, historic town, castle, etc but some differences too. Our High Street is a main arterial route for the town, their town had alternative routes for cars.
Goods redistribution facilities are mentioned which might be interesting, receive goods from the outside of town and then have a lower Qty of lorries going along the High Street.
